YOL Portland – January 26, 2018

Portland2017-Header

We are so excited to announce our second YOL experience in Portland at the amazing New Avenues for Youth. This special discounted program is designed to showcase YOL’s unique wellness and service programming while offering you and your colleagues a unique opportunity to shed stress, have fun and give back to an inspiring organization.

We’ll meet at New Avenues for Youth (314 SW 9th Avenue) at 9:00 and you’ll learn about YOL’s approach to mindful service and get oriented to the day ahead.

Then, we’ll talk with the New Avenues Staff to learn more about the New Avenues programs and how they align with their mission to work in partnership with their community to prevent youth homelessness and provide at-risk young people with the resources and skills needed to lead healthy, productive lives.

A guided meditation and mindful movement exercise will follow (appropriate for beginners or seasoned meditators) after which we’ll dive into mindful service, working to clean up and clear out the NAY Drop In Center.

We’ll then have a yummy organic lunch and then engage with the New Avenues Staff again in an enlightening service and impact conversation, where we’ll co-create and develop other solutions for service that match up with New Avenues’ mid and long-term strategic objectives.

A collaboration and empathy exercise will follow and prior to some of the New Avenues’ teens arriving for an art therapy activity with us.

Don’t miss this powerful experience! The cost to attend is just $98/person.  Have friends or co-workers who would be interested in joining as well?  Register three of your people, and the fourth person will attend for free!

ABOUT NEW AVENUES FOR YOUTH
New Avenues for Youth was established in 1997 by local business and community leaders in response to the growing needs of homeless and at-risk youth in downtown Portland. Its founders believed that every young person should have food, shelter, and access to education and job training and that we must go beyond meeting those basic needs by offering programs that heal young lives and nurture growth and independence. Since 1997, they have impacted the lives of more than 20,000 individuals through a range of services that address basic needs & safety, provide opportunities for education & career, and help youth achieve self-sufficiency.
