YOL Comes to Portland – September 15, 2017

We are so excited to announce our first YOL experience in Portland at the amazing New Avenues for Youth. This special discounted program is designed to showcase YOL’s unique wellness and service programming while offering you and your colleagues a unique opportunity to shed stress, have fun and give back to an incredible organization on a beautiful fall day.
We’ll meet at New Avenues for Youth (314 SW 9th Avenue) at 8:45 and you’ll learn about YOL’s approach to mindful service and get oriented to the day ahead.
Then, we will apply our intention and focus as we engage in an art therapy project with the kids at New Avenues and begin our volunteer activity. The group will break from our service engagement to enjoy a delicious, organic picnic lunch and conclude the day with a guided meditation before heading home, refreshed and relaxed.
Along the way we’ll also hear from New Avenues Development Coordinator Hana Sant to learn more about the New Avenues programs and how they align with their mission to work in partnership with their community to prevent youth homelessness and provide homeless and at-risk young people with the resources and skills needed to lead healthy, productive lives.
Don’t miss this powerful experience! The cost to attend is just $98/person. Know friends or co-workers who would be interested in joining as well? Register three of your people, and the fourth person will attend for free!

New Avenues for Youth was established in 1997 by local business and community leaders in response to the growing needs of homeless and at-risk youth in downtown Portland. Its founders believed that every young person should have food, shelter, and access to education and job training and that we must go beyond meeting those basic needs by offering programs that heal young lives and nurture growth and independence. Since 1997, they have impacted the lives of more than 20,000 individuals through a range of services that address basic needs & safety, provide opportunities for education & career, and help youth achieve self-sufficiency.
YOL offers transformative experiences for high performing teams and individuals that combine wellness, volunteering, and leadership development.  Our focus is on employee engagement and resilience—getting people to shed stress, expand their mind and reconnect with themselves and humanity.  The end result: quicker access to “flow state” and peak performance.  Learn more at yoltrips.com.
