LA and Santa Monica, we’re coming at you (again!)! We are so excited to announce the rescheduling of our first YOL experience in Santa Monica in partnership with the PICO Youth and Family Center after the unfortunate postponement due to the fires.This special discounted program is designed to showcase YOL’s unique wellness and service programming while offering you and your colleagues a unique opportunity to shed stress, have fun and give back to an incredible community-based organization that has been serving the city of Santa Monica for 15 years.
We’ll meet at PICO Youth at (715 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica) at 9:15 and you’ll learn about YOL’s approach to mindful service and get oriented to the day ahead.We’ll then head to the beach through lunch for a number of fun activities before heading back to PICO for a few hours of service engagement with their amazing organization. Along the way we’ll hear from their Executive Director, enjoy a delicious, organic picnic lunch and conclude the day with a guided meditation before heading home, refreshed and relaxed.

ABOUT PICO YOUTH AND FAMILY CENTER
Pico Youth & Family Center (PYFC), is a non-profit organization in Santa Monica committed to preventing youth violence. Through various services and caring staff support we bring hope to the lives of youth. We serve hundreds of youth annually, ages 16-24 who are most at risk, through case management, counseling, tutoring, job readiness training, leadership development, music, art and computer training. The PYFC is a positive alternative to the streets for many of Santa Monica’s youth and young adults who seek guidance, support and service.

ABOUT OUR FACILITATORS
Jackie Richards, MA
A co-founder of YOL, Jackie Richards leads program planning and service engagement. She is passionate about people and service and has worked with local and international communities for over a decade. She is also a Licensed Somatic Psychotherapist who works with individuals and groups to raise consciousness about how we relate to self, others and the greater human web. She has worked in various social service settings with diverse, resilient and under-resourced communities, and previously co-led the Community Service Learning program at San Francisco University High School to support youth engaging in conscious service projects. Jackie believes that volunteerism is more than just giving back—it’s about growing greater self-awareness, connecting across difference and empowering local community members to grow a stronger global network together.
