SantaRosaOct2017

Join YOL for a day of mindfulness, volunteering, connection and more at Forget Me Not Farm in Santa Rosa on Friday, October 20, 2017.

This special discounted program is designed to showcase YOL’s unique leadership programming and curriculum while offering you and your colleagues a unique opportunity to shed stress, have fun and give back to an incredible organization on a beautiful fall day.

We’ll meet at Forget Me Not Farm, just above Santa Rosa at 8:45 and you’ll learn about YOL’s approach to mindful service and get oriented to the day ahead.

Then, we will apply our intention and focus as we dig in the dirt and begin our volunteering activity. The group will break from our service engagement to enjoy a delicious, organic picnic lunch and conclude the day with a yoga class and guided meditation before heading home, refreshed and relaxed.

Along the way we’ll also hear from FMNF’s Executive Director, Carol Rathmann to learn more about the history of the farm and their incredible mission and work.

Don’t miss this powerful experience! The cost to attend is just $98/person and your fee also includes a small donation to FMNF Have friends or co-workers who would be interested in joining as well? Register three of your people, and the fourth person will attend for free!

ABOUT OUR FACILITATORS

Mira Valeria
Mira Valeria is a San Francisco-based yoga instructor. Her classes are rooted in gratitude – to Self, to others, and to all teachers, in whatever form they appear. She strives to teach students to cultivate their own practice of love and devotion in a way that feels authentic to them; to practice ahimsa and santosha, meaning compassion and fulfillment, wherever they are in life; to embrace change and breathe through uncomfortable moments; and to use yoga as a tool to explore possibility, to seek out our edges, to unleash our potential and allow for some freedom to play. Her earlier work at the World Bank and US State Department fed a desire for empowerment and self belief, and several years of living and working in poor communities throughout Latin America showed her the value of individual connection.

Whitney Hofacker
Whitney’s work is rooted in connecting individuals to themselves, to each other, and to the natural world. She integrates social justice, service, and outdoor adventure to inspire and empower youth and adults. When she’s not leading backpacking trips in Patagonia, Argentina or teaching at a permaculture site in Tanzania, she is facilitating The Athenian Wilderness Experience and serving as Interim Community Service Director at The Athenian School in Danville, CA.
